How does CIVIC raise funds?
CIVIC maintains a diverse funding stream. We rely on private foundations and generous individuals just like you to support our work. In fact, we currently raise about 40% of our funds from individuals.

How does CIVIC spend money?
CIVIC accomplishes big things on a small budget. On a budget of $470K we were able to accomplish great things. We stretch each dollar of our budget as far as we can to ensure we can help those who rely on our efforts. [Click here to read some of our 2010 accomplishments]

Does CIVIC give money directly to war victims on the ground?
CIVIC is not a direct aid organization, but rather an advocacy organization. We advocate for smart, compassionate policies from lawmakers and warring parties around the world. By doing this we are able to amplify our small budget many times over. For example, since our beginning in 2005, CIVIC has spent less than $1.5 million on program costs, but we've helped secure more than $141 million from the US government to directly aid war victims. Additionally, for every $1 we spent as an organization in 2010, we successfully advocated for $125 more for US government programs for war victims in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan.
